Man stabbed in head, stomach; suspect arrested

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Kalamazoo are investigating after a man was stabbed in the head and stomach Thursday.

It happened shortly after 1 a.m. in the 400 block of Reed Avenue near Burdick Street in Kalamazoo.

Police say the victim was stabbed with a knife during a fight with the suspect.

The 28-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with stab wounds to the head and stomach. He is currently listed in stable condition, according to a Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety news release.

The suspect, a 23-year-old Kalamazoo man, was arrested and taken to the Kalamazoo County jail for assault with intent to do great bodily harm.
