Kalamazoo police: Baby’s death suspicious

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a 7-month-old child in Kalamazoo.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said emergency responders got a call of an unresponsive child at a home in the 1200 block of Summit Avenue near the Douglas Avenue intersection Wednesday.

Officers arrived at the house to find the child not breathing and without a pulse. The 7-month-old was taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital where the child was pronounced dead.

In a Thursday morning news release, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety called the infant’s death suspicious, but gave condolences to loved ones of the baby.
