MARSHALL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Multiple people have been sent to the hospital after a crash Sunday morning on I-94.
It happened around 3 a.m. westbound I-94 near mile marker 106, west of I-69 northwest of Marshall.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says a 32-year-old woman from Galesburg with two small children in the car stopped to help another car that had hit a deer moments earlier.
While she was pulling over, her vehicle was rear-ended by a 21-year-old Kalamazoo woman.
The Galesburg woman and the two children were taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital with minor injuries.
The 21-year-old driver was taken to the same hospital in stable condition, but her passenger had to be freed from the vehicle and is considered in critical condition.
The sheriff’s office believes speed and alcohol may have been factors, however the crash investigation is ongoing.
