DOUGLAS, Mich. (WOOD) — Saugatuck Brewing Company and Gonzo’s BiggDogg Brewing out of Kalamazoo are merging, the companies announced Friday.

The companies are still waiting on approval from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission and the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. Once that comes through, Gonzo’s will become Saugatuck Brewing Company – Kalamazoo.

You’ll still be able to get Gonzo’s favorites at the Kalamazoo location, but Saugatuck Brewing beers will be made there, as well. Executives with both companies said they were excited to expand their reach.

Over the new few weeks, the operating management of Gonzo’s will be moved to Saugatuck Brewing. Gonzo’s staff members will keep their jobs.

Gonzo’s Pint Club memberships will be carried over.
