COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — An 18-year-old woman was thrown from a pickup truck in a crash on Sprinkle Road near Kalamazoo, investigators say.

Comstock Township firefighters found the woman lying on the ground near the crash, which happened around 2 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Sprinkle Road and Market Street.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office determined the woman was a passenger in a pickup truck traveling north on Sprinkle Road. The pickup truck hit a vehicle as it turned in front of it from Market Street.

Authorities say the woman was taken by ambulance to Bronson Methodist Hospital with “several visible injuries.” The 19-year-old driver of the pickup truck and the 67-year-old driving the other vehicle had minor injuries.

Investigators say alcohol is not a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 269.383.8748 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
