BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A man who worked as a substitute teacher in the Battle Creek area has been arrested on child pornography charges.
The Battle Creek Police Department is withholding the 56-year-old man’s name until he’s formally charged.
Police say they took three computers belonging to the man from a property on G Drive North. Officers do not believe any of the of the pornographic photos they found are local children.
The computers were taken as a part of a search connected to Donald Johnston, who was charged last week with first-degree criminal sexual conduct for an assault on a 5-year-old boy.
Johnston was arrested as part of a Michigan State Police investigation into a child sex abuse conspiracy ring spanning several counties. Additional federal charges are possible.
