3 arrested on drugs, weapons charges after traffic stop

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Three people were arrested Saturday after drugs and a firearm were found in a vehicle during a traffic stop.

Kalamazoo County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle around 5:45 p.m. in the 6000 block of East Michigan Avenue east of North Sprinkle Road in Comstock Township. 

Authorities say deputies noticed a sawed off shotgun resting between the feet of one of the passengers inside the vehicle. Deputies began investigating and found that, along with methamphetamine, three of the four passengers had warrants out for their arrest. 

Deputies arrested three of the passengers, they were taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail. 

Authorities say charges for possesion of a weapon and meth are currently being sought.
