PORTAGE, Mich. (WOOD) — Two Kalamazoo men police say used Facebook to lure someone to an apartment complex to rob them are in custody.

Dontrell Hooper, 25, and 26-year-old Lamar Bell are charged with armed robbery. Hooper is also charged with two counts of using a firearm to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a felon in connection to the Jan. 9 incident.

The Portage Department of Public Safety says the men posted a pair of tennis shoes for sale on Facebook to lure the victim to the Milham Meadows/Mallard Cove apartment complex. When the would-be buyer showed up, one of the men pulled out a pistol and demanded the victim’s money.

The men were arrested around 6 p.m. Monday and formally charged Tuesday. They remain in the Kalamazoo County jail.
