BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say they have arrested one person of interest and are looking for another in a weekend homicide in Battle Creek.

A 31-year-old Battle Creek man was arrested Thursday evening in Kentwood, the Battle Creek Police Department announced Friday. He’s being held on warrants linked to a Jan. 20 shooting at Sam’s Discount Party Store on Dickman Road. There have been no reports of injuries in that incident.

The man, whose name wasn’t released, is also a person of interest in the early Sunday shooting at the intersection of South Kendall Street and West Dickman that killed 23-year-old Wendell Daniels and injured two other men, ages 22 and 24. The victims were in one car and the shooter believed to be in another.

Another person of interest in the deadly shooting, a 21-year-old Battle Creek man whose name also wasn’t released, is still being sought for questioning.
