1 arrested after shots fired in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police have arrested a person after receiving reports of shots being fired in Kalamazoo.

It happened around 4:52 p.m. near the intersection of Edwards and Parson streets. Officers received a report of shots fired in the area, and received a detailed description of the suspect from the caller.

Using information from the caller, Kalamazoo police found the suspect and arrested them after a brief chase on foot. A pistol was also recovered near where the suspect was taken into custody.

The 25-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, reckless discharge of a firearm, and resisting and obstructing a police officer.
