KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo Valley Community College is holding a watch party Monday to see if one of its instructors wins the “Spring Baking Championship” on the Food Network.

The event will begin at 8:30 p.m. at the Culinary Theatre in the Marilyn J. Schlack Culinary & Allied Health Building.

The guest of honor will be Chef Cory Barrett, who has been advancing in the “Spring Baking Championship” for the past seven weeks. The final episode if the season will reveal whether he won $25,000.

The conclusion to the competition was filmed months ago, but it’s just now airing on TV. Barrett has had to keep the outcome a secret, but did tell 24 Hour News 8 before the season premiere that he had fun taping the show.

If you’re not going to the party but still want to watch, the “Spring Baking Championship” airs at 9 p.m. Monday on the Food Network.
