WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Wyoming is using a grant worth over $138,000 to purchase new emergency equipment for the fire department.

The city received a $138,573 grant through the Federal Emergency Management Association, which will be used to buy emergency equipment to help with automobile extrications, incidents involving hazardous materials, rope, rescues from water, ice and trenches, and medical and technical rescue incidents.

Wyoming firefighters spend almost 5,000 hours training each year. The new equipment was chosen to be used for multiple purposes and help firefighters prepare for any situation that could happen.
