BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A crash involving a Byron Center school bus didn’t keep a group of students from Thursday’s classes.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. at S. Division and 76th Street on the border of Byron and Gaines townships.

A viewer photo shows a vehicle smashed into the side of the bus.

Allison Vanderhyde with the district told 24 Hour News the students aboard the bus were from 5th grade through 12th grade and attended the intermediate, middle and high schools. Dispatchers said none of the children were injured and the vehicle driver is OK.

Vanderhyde said students on the damaged bus were transferred to a second bus and made it to school on time.

The crash blocked the intersection, but the area remained open to traffic.
