ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police partnered with several West Michigan Walmarts to provide items for families in need during the holiday season.

Stuff a Blue Goose for Christmas sent troopers from the Michigan State Police Rockford Post to Walmarts in Grand Haven, Wyoming and Whitehall to collect as many new toys, clothing and non-perishable food items as possible in a six-hour period.

The event is named after MSP cruisers, which troopers refer to as “blue gooses.”

The donated items were then given to the Salvation Army for distribution to families in need.
