GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A worker is expected to recover after an accident on a construction site that sent him to the hospital.
It happened around 9:17 a.m. Tuesday at the site of the former Southeast YMCA, 730 Forest Hill Ave. in Grand Rapids Township. Crews are working to transform the property into an assisted living and memory care facility.
Kent County dispatchers say a worker was using a saw when it slipped and hit him in the throat area.
Dispatchers say he was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
