Roommate arrested following deadly shooting in Walker

WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a suspect was arrested following a deadly shooting at an apartment complex in Walker early Monday morning.

The shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. at the Orchards apartment complex, located in the 900 block of 4 Mile Road NW near the Alpine Avenue intersection.

The victim, who was identified as 29-year-old Nicholas Scott Burns, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Walker Police Department news release. 

A 23-year-old man, who police said was the victim’s roommate, was taken into custody at the apartment without incident. The suspect’s name is not being released until after he is arraigned.

The case remains under investigation.
