WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — The first annual Remembrance Car Cruise rolled into Walker Saturday morning with all proceeds to benefit first responders and their families.
The event included classic cars, police and fire trucks, BBQ & other snacks, children activities and a raffle; whose proceeds were given to the Thin Blue Line of Michigan.
Event organizers say they were expecting a much smaller turnout for the events inaugural run.
Organizers say they were encouraged when over 60 more classic cars showed up than were expected.
Walker Police officers say the large turnout is great for community relations and helps bridge the gap between the public and those that have sworn to protect them.
