Police arrest suspect in Kentwood armed robbery

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — Police arrested the suspect of an armed robbery in Kentwood Sunday morning.

It happened around 4:23 a.m. at the Shell gas station at the corner of 28th Street SE and East Paris Avenue SE, just east of the Woodland Mall in Kentwood. 

Kentwood police say a man armed with a knife in his late 20s wearing a hairnet over his face robbed the gas station. The man left with an undetermined amount of money and the attendant’s vehicle. 

Police on scene said they found the suspect a few blocks southwest of the gas station at the Holiday Inn at 3063 Lake Eastbrook Boulevard, where he was hiding in the parking lot. Police arrested him without incident.
