PD: Shots fired, car crash at apt. complex

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — Kentwood police are looking into a shooting Sunday afternoon that also involved a car crash.

It happened around 2:15 p.m. at the Pheasant Ridge Apartments in the area of 32nd Street SE and Breton Road. There were no reports of injuries.

The Kentwood Police Department says that when officers arrived to investigate multiple reports of shots fired, they found a car crashed into a dumpster.

Police said the owner had left it running in the parking lot, at which point someone else took it and the crash happened. At least a few people then ran away.

Police said they found two types of bullet casings around the crashed car. A nearby car was also hit by gunfire.
