WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Metro Health University of Michigan Health says it is on its way to becoming the first physician-led health care system in West Michigan.
Metro Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Peter Hahn will take over as president and chief executive officer on Oct. 1.
Metro Health says Hahn was “instrumental” in fostering its affiliation with University of Michigan Health.
In a Monday news release, Hahn said patients should expect “further innovations, improvements and expansions” as Metro Health continues with its comprehensive strategic plan.
Hahn succeeds Michael Faas, who led Metro Health from a single hospital on Boston Street in Grand Rapids into a health care system with a Wyoming campus during his 25-year career.
Hahn is a pulmonologist and former physician for Mayo Clinic. The Okemos native served in various health care leadership roles in Oregon before returning to Michigan, according to Metro Health.
