ALGOMA TWP, Mich. (WOOD) — After months of delays, US-131 in northern Kent County reopened Wednesday. .
US-131 north of downtown Grand Rapids has been closed since the early summer between 10 Mile Road and 14 Mile Road. Crews first reconstructed the southbound lanes of US-131 and now are working on the northbound side.
The project was delayed over the summer due to a labor dispute.
Some work still needs to be done, so there will still be off-peak single lane closures though Dec. 23 for finishing touches.
The ramps from 10 Mile to northbound and southbound US-131 will reopen as well as the exit ramp from northbound US-131 to 14 Mile Road.
