LOWELL, Mich. (WOOD) — Lowell police say a woman suspected of shoplifting with two toddlers in tow has turned herself in.

The Lowell Police Department posted surveillance images of the woman on its Facebook page Tuesday. Officers say when she was confronted, she ran out of the store with both children and nearly hit a worker with her car.

Wednesday afternoon, police said the woman was located and turned herself in to the police department.

The police department thanked the community for its help in the case, but also asked people to be judicious in their comments.

“We ask that you don’t judge people based on one action as you don’t know the personal circumstances and struggles a person may be going through at that time,” the Facebook post stated.
