ADA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kingma’s Market in Ada Village will close within the next few weeks, store management announced Monday.

The shop in Ada had been in business fewer than 18 months. It was a sister store to the original Kingma’s on Plainfield Avenue NE in Grand Rapids. It was also significantly bigger.

In a Monday statement, owner Alan Hartline said that the company realized its “niche … is to serve customers in a smaller, more dense and walkable area, in a scaled-down site,” like the original Kingma’s. But he didn’t rule out other expansion stores in the future.

Sales at the Ada store will start immediately and doors are expected to close around the end of the month, though a specific date was not listed in a Monday release.

The closure means the Fish Lads and Rowster Coffee inside the Ada Kingma’s will also close.
