KENT CITY, Mich. (WOOD) — A former director accused of embezzling $5,000 from the nonprofit nature center where he worked will go to jail.

A Kent County judge Tuesday sentenced David Kieft to three years of probation followed by 90 days in jail, a court administrator tells 24 Hour News 8.

Kieft was the director of the Howard Christensen Nature Center in Kent City for about four years until he resigned in August 2017, according to the Cedar Springs Post.

Kieft will find out how much money he will have to repay during a separate court hearing.
