WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — A 15-year-old was shot during a reported robbery attempt in Wyoming on Tuesday, police say.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. at a business in the 3000 block of Division Avenue near Wexford Street. Police responded to an alarm the area, the Wyoming Department of Public Safety said in a release.

Soon after that, a 15-year-old was found nearby with a gunshot wound, police say. They say was brought to the hospital, where he is in serious condition.

Police say the teenager and two other people were involved in “what was reported to police
as … a robbery attempt at that location.” The other two people fled the scene.

Wyoming DPS said it is believed no one else was injured.
