PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The body of a man missing since January was found during a search in Belmont on Tuesday, authorities say.

Richard Drayton was found around 4:40 p.m. in the area of US-131 and 7 Mile road in Plainfield Township, the Kent County Sheriff’s Department said.

There is no evidence of foul play, authorities said. An autopsy will be conducted to determine exactly how he died.

Drayton, 43, was last seen alive the morning of Jan. 25 walking away from his house in Belmont. He was being treated as an endangered missing person because of health problems.

On Tuesday, the sheriff’s department sent deputies, drones, dogs and mounted units to the area to look for him. Authorities had searched before, but were hampered by snow.
