KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is facing an assault charge for his alleged role in a stabbing in Kentwood.

The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. on June 18 at a residence in the 5700 block of Sable Ridge Drive SE. Officers were sent to the residence on a report of an assault at a party and discovered four people had been cut or stabbed upon arrival.

After the incident, police said two “persons of interest” were in custody. On Tuesday, Son Thai Le was arrested and charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. Police didn’t specify if Le was one of the persons of interest.

Four people were taken to the hospital after the stabbing. Two were treated for minor injuries and released, one underwent surgery for a serious but not life-threatening injury and the fourth was in critical but stable condition at the time of the incident.
