1 arrested, 1 sought in Wyoming armed robbery

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities continue to search for a second suspect in an armed robbery at a cash advance store.

The robbery happened just before 4 p.m. Saturday at the 911 Cash located at 1225 Chicago Drive SW, according to the Wyoming Department of Public Safety.

Police say two suspects entered the store armed with weapons — one with a handgun and the other with a long gun. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects were seen running westbound in the alley behind the store.

No was injured in the robbery.

Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, an officer made a traffic stop on Burton Street SW near US-131 in Wyoming. During the traffic stop, the officer noticed the driver matched the description of one of the suspects and discovered a handgun and long gun.

The driver was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm and driving with a suspended license. His name is not being released pending arraignment.

The second suspect is described as a man around 30-40 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 with an average build. Police said he was last seen wearing a brown outfit, similar to a tracksuit.
