WESTPHALIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – An ex-convict who showed up on an officer’s doorstep armed with a knife is likely heading back to prison.
A jury Thursday found James Michael Kenny guilty of three felonies, including aggravated stalking, assault with a dangerous weapon and resisting, obstructing, or assaulting a police officer.
Kenny was arrested last June after police said he showed up at the Clinton County home of a female prison corrections officer who worked where he was once housed.
Witnesses said the officer’s boyfriend confronted Kenny and disarmed him.
He ran away, sparking a manhunt . A man and his nephew were riding an ATV when they spotted the suspect and held him until authorities arrived.
Kenny is expected back in court for sentencing May 23.
