LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a cyclist was injured after a crash Monday in Ionia County.
Ionia County Sheriff’s deputies were called around 9:21 p.m. to the area of Jordan Lake Road and Bonanza Road in Lake Odessa. Deputies say a man was lying near the road.
The cyclist says he was traveling south on Jordan Lake Road when a dark-colored pickup truck traveling westbound on Bonanza Road crossed the intersection in front of him, according to a press release from the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say the cyclist and truck collided. The cyclist struck the front passenger door of the pickup, a release states.
Deputies are unsure how fast the vehicle was going. The victim was wearing a helmet and reflective riding gear, authorities say.
The cyclist was transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids for non-life-threating injuries, a release states.
It’s believed the truck is about the size of a Ford F150, but the exact make and model are unknown, authorities say. There may be damage to the front passenger door, deputies say.
