Holland, Mich. (WOOD) – Help preserve our freshwater resources like Holland’s Lake Macatawa and its watershed. Attend the Macatawa Water Festival on Saturday July 9th at Windmill Island in Holland.Learn more about Project Clarity and its mission to improve the health and clarity of Lake Macatawa and the Macatawa Watershed. This is a community wide partnership that will benefit residents and businesses in the Holland and Zeeland area even if they are not located on Lake Macatawa.By slowing down the water and reducing the amount of sediment and the nutrients that currently pollute them, this project can impact the water quality and help the economy, environment and community as a whole.Benefits can include increased tourism, water based recreation, and possible water front development. Wetland restoration will increase the presence and health of wildlife habitats.
