Gun shown at Hope College; police searching for vehicle

HOLLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Holland are looking for several people who allegedly showed a gun to students at Hope College.

The students said that a vehicle occupied by several individuals approached them near Visscher Cottage in the 200 block of E. 13th Street and showed a gun before driving away. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

A description of the vehicle was provided to the Holland Police Department, who are actively searching for the vehicle. The description of the vehicle has not been made public at this time.

According to a tweet from Hope College, there is no evidence that the people inside the vehicle pose any sort of an ongoing threat to the college.

Anyone who notices suspicious activity is asked to call Campus Safety at 616.395.7770 or 911.
