Grand Rapids ended the regular season No. 4 in the AHL Central Division. Milwaukee was 11 points ahead of them for the No. 1 spot in the division.

But the Griffins didn’t let that intimidate them. They won the first two games against the Admirals in Milwaukee before the best-of-five series moved to Van Andel Arena.

Grand Rapids now advances to the Central Division Finals. The Griffins will meet the Lake Erie Monsters in that series, the schedule for which will be released Wednesday. The Griffins went 7-4-0-1 against the Monsters this season.

The Griffins won their first and only Calder Cup in 2013.
