GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids Griffins won a hard-fought victory over the Cleveland Monsters in a shootout Wednesday.

“I think tonight was a game where special teams were obviously key. We got two power play goals and we killed off all their penalties, so that was the difference in the game tonight,” Griffins head coach Todd Nelson said. “You look at the shots on net, I think there were 47 a piece, so both teams had plenty of opportunities.”
