GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are investigating after a restaurant in southeast Grand Rapids was broken into.

Police were seen shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday at The Old Goat located at the intersection of Eastern Avenue SE and Alger Street SE. A News 8 crew saw that a front window was smashed.

The Grand Rapids Police Department said officers were called to the restaurant around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday after a witness reported the broken window. Items were stolen from the restaurant.

The alarm was not tripped so police don’t know when the break-in actually happened, according to GRPD.

No suspect information was not available Wednesday morning.

GRPD Sgt. John Wittkowski said windows were smashed at Pietro’s Italian Restaurant, located near the intersection of 28th Street and Breton Road SE, and The Electric Cheetah, located on Wealthy Street SE, as well overnight. It’s unclear if the incidents are related.
