GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating after a bullet hit a Grand Rapids home Monday night.

It happened around 9 p.m. on Diamond Avenue SE north of Logan Street. No one was hurt, but the people who live in the house say it was a close call.

“My kids were sitting here (just before the shooting) and I’d just put them to bed, so like, they was on the couch and could have literally been shot,” the resident, who didn’t want to be identified, said. “I literally walked out the house around 8:45 after I put them to bed and I could have been shot also. The bullet went through my window … hit my other wall and the bullet is still lodged in my wall. It did not exit. They (the kids) just went to bed literally five minutes before my house got hit.”

Witnesses reported seeing a white sedan leaving the scene.

No arrests had been made as of Monday night.
