Shooting suspect turns himself in to GRPD

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich, (WOOD) — A man accused of attempted murder in Grand Rapids turned himself in Sunday morning.

The Grand Rapids Police Department said 32-year-old Terrell Nigel Tate was wanted in connection to an April 21 shooting on South Division Avenue and Cherry Street near downtown. One man was injured in the shooting.

On Wednesday, the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office issued a four-count felony warrant for Tate, which included charges of assault with intent to commit murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearm. Police put out a warning that he may be dangerous.

Tate could be arraigned as early as Monday.
