CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Vice President Mike Pence is coming to West Michigan to tour a company and pay his respects to the family of late Amway co-founder Richard DeVos.
24 Hour News 8 Political Reporter Rick Albin learned of Pence’s planned visit Wednesday morning.
The White House says Pence will tour Mill Steel Company in Cascade Township, where he will tout the impact of President Trump’s tax reform policies.
Details of his plans to pay tribute to the DeVos family have not been released.
DeVos, who was one of the area’s biggest philanthropists, died last week. He was 92 years old.

Pence released the following statement:
“Saddened to hear of the passing of Richard DeVos, a towering figure in American business and conservative politics. DeVos was a generous philanthropist and pillar of his community. His family and loved ones are in my prayers. He will be missed.”
Public visitations for DeVos will take place Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Amway Grand Plaza Hotel’s Ambassador Ballroom.
