GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is in custody after police say he tried to rob a Subway restaurant in Grand Rapids.
It happened around 4:15 p.m. Monday at the Subway at 100 Wealthy Street SE, just east of S. Division Avenue.
Police say the suspect implied he had a weapon, although none was seen. He demanded money at the register, but didn’t get anything.
Officers quickly arrived and arrested the man at the restaurant. No one was hurt.
Police say the man is in jail awaiting arraignment on a charge of attempted unarmed robbery.
