GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a man died after being injured in a fight in Grand Rapids early Friday.
Police on Monday identified the victim as 34-year-old Frederick Lardale Jewell of Grand Rapids.
The fight involving multiple people broke out around 2:30 a.m. Friday at the BP gas station on Hall Street at S. Division Avenue. The Grand Rapids Police Department says officers who were called there found Jewell unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital, where he died Saturday.
An autopsy was conducted Monday, after which the death was ruled a homicide. Police aren’t saying what type of injuries Jewell sustained.
They have also not said what led up to the fight.
No one has been charged with causing Jewell’s death, GRPD said.
