GRPD: Suspect sought in southeast Grand Rapids shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was shot in southeast Grand Rapids Saturday night and police are looking for the suspect shooter. 

The victim was found in an alley near Cornwall Avenue and Sycamore Street just before 10:30 p.m. 

Police say the victim was shot in his right leg, but may have been shot more than once.

Authorities say the victim was transported to the hospital and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Grand Rapids police are setting up crime tape at the scene where the victim was found and ask the public to avoid the area. 

A K-9 team will soon attempt to track the suspect. 

A suspect description was not immediately available.
