GRPD seeking tips to ID robbery suspect

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police are seeking tips on identifying the suspect in a robbery.

It happened around 2 a.m. Sunday at 21 Weston St. SW.

Police say the victim was walking down the street when he was assaulted from behind and knocked unconscious. At that time, the suspect went through the victim’s pockets and started taking his belongings.

After the robbery, someone began to use the victim’s credit cards at multiple locations throughout the Grand Rapids area. Police are also attempting to locate a person of interest in the use of the stolen credit cards.

The victim regained consciousness before being taken to a hospital by ambulance and doesn’t appear to have suffered a sustained serious injury.
