GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a man died Friday night after being hit by a car in Grand Rapids.
It happened around 7 p.m. on Kalamazoo Avenue SE at Amberly SE, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department. A man was hit by a northbound car.
The man was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he died, GRPD said. His name was not released Friday.
After the first crash, police say two other cars hit the first car from behind.
The driver who hit the man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, according to GRPD. She was not hurt.
The drivers of the other two cars had minor injuries. Police say they do not believe alcohol was involved for these drivers.
Police are investigating.
