GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Multiple businesses were damaged after shots were fired in Grand Rapids early Sunday morning, police say.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Wealthy Street and Ethel Avenue. No injuries were reported but multiple businesses and vehicles parked in the area were damaged, the Grand Rapids Police Department told News 8.

Some local business owners told News 8 the area gets very violent during the early morning hours on weekends.

Alisha McKay said she left the area minutes before it happened.

“If I would’ve been here, I could’ve been walking out the door when all that stuff happened, if I would’ve taken a few extra minutes to talk on the phone or something like that,” McKay said. “This isn’t a one-time, or a first-time, or a second, or a third, or a fourth, or a fifth-time incidence.”

GRPD is investigating.
