GRPD investigating armed robbery near Culver's

24 Hour News 8 web staff - GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) -- Police are searching for the thief who robbed a man at knifepoint near a Culver's restaurant in Grand Rapids.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2500 block of E. Beltline Avenue SE, police say.

The Grand Rapids Police Department says the victim was urinating behind a vacant building when the suspect approached him, flashed a knife and demanded money.

After the robbery, the victim went to Culver's to call police.

Police said Wednesday the suspect was later arrested near a PNC Bank in the area.

No one was injured.

***CORRECTION: Officers earlier stated the crime happened at Culver's; however police later clarified the victim traveled to the restaurant to call police.****
