GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police say a man shot multiple times in Grand Rapids is in serious condition, but is expected to survive.
The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. Monday in the 1500 block of Eastern Avenue SE, near Evergreen Street.
Police say the man was shot three times in the ankle, hip and abdomen. He was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery, where his condition was serious but stable late Monday morning.
Sgt. Cathy Williams says no one is in custody for the shooting. She says the victim and witnesses are being uncooperative, so police have no information as to what happened.
Officers at the scene urged people inside a home near the incident to help with the investigation.
