Grand Rapids house destroyed in fire, no injuries

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities say a house was destroyed in fire on Grand Rapids’ northwest side Thursday. 

The fire broke out around 10:20 a.m. at a house in the 1100 block of Hiaschutter Place NW, according the Grand Rapids Fire Department.

The Grand Rapids Police Department is partially blocking off Garfield Avenue and Second Street while fire crews work to put out the flames.

Fire officials said the home is a total loss. Three people inside the home were able to escape without injury.
