GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — River conditions impeded recovery efforts after Grand Rapids response crews found a car in Plaster Creek Saturday night.
Response teams first received reports of a car spotted in the water near the Grand Rapids waste water treatment facility around 9:15 p.m.
Investigators were able to find the car, but were unable to get to it before halting the recovery overnight Sunday because of conditions on the water.
Firefighters were back in the area Sunday morning and were eventually able to recover the car.
They could not confirm what they knew about the driver or passengers, but authorities do believe the car was occupied when it plunged into the creek.
