GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grand Rapids man was sentenced to four years in prison for committing student loan, grant and tax fraud.

Brandon Rogers, 31, was sentenced Tuesday to four years in prison and ordered to pay $128,746 in restitution.

He pleaded guilty last November to obtaining the identity information of other people and enrolling them into classes at Grand Rapids Community College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Rogers then used that information to apply for student loans and Pell Grants in their names and pocketed the money.
