GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grand Rapids house got a surprise visitor Tuesday when a deer came crashing through one of its windows.

It happened shortly after 1 p.m.

A city plow driver spotted the deer as it ran through the glass and into the house, located in the 2300 block of Portman Drive SE, just off Breton Road SE between 36th and 44th streets.

Police believe the deer escaped when no one was looking.

Officers say the creature caused minor damage to the home. No one was there at the time.

Police say the Michigan Department of Natural Resources has been called to investigate the incident.
